Benton,  Benton & Associates, P.L.L.C. is proud to carry on the Benton tradition of providing superior legal services to the citizens of Louisiana.  The original firm of Benton, Benton and Benton, Inc. was founded in 1918 by Fred G. Benton, Sr. and his brother, W.H. Benton.  The original Benton firm began as a general civil practice firm.   Later, Thomas H. Benton ("Mr. Tommy") continued the Benton legacy and formed the law firm of Thomas H. Benton & Associates, P.L.L.C., which subsequently became Benton, Benton & Associates, P.L.C.C.  The firm concentrated its practice in the areas of litigation, health care law, successions, estate planning ( trusts, power of attorneys, and wills) and corporate law.

 

In June of 1990, Mr. Tommy's son, J. Barrett Benton ("Barrett"), became the third generation to join the law firm.  In 2003, Barrett became the head of the Benton firm.  Under Barrett's leadership and direction, the firm expanded its focus on health care law, becoming one of the premier boutique health care firms in the state.   In August 2017, the Benton firm and the Louisiana legal community suffered a tremendous loss when Barrett passed away.   Barrett's passing led to the first non-Benton, and first female, head of the Benton firm - Lyn Savoie, who joined the firm as managing attorney in October 2017.

 

While we embark on a new journey, the Benton firm prides itself on continuing the Benton legacy of providing personalized legal representation of individuals and smaller enterprises.  We believe the Benton firm's commitment to providing personalized services to its clients has been a key component in the firm's success for more than 80 years and we look forward to many more successful years to come.
